Aliwan Fiesta 2013

Seventeen colorful contingents and 14 amazing floats, I guess, that's how most of us will summarize the recently concluded battle of the champions, Aliwan Fiesta 2013. But did you know that there's one thing left, it was a gazillion of fun, surprises and spectacles too!

Seventeen colorful contingents from Luzon, Visayas and Mindandao battle it out yesterday at Manila and Pasay Cities for the annual celebration of Aliwan Fiesta. Organized by Manila Broadcasting Company for 17 years now, this celebration aims not only to promote our festivities to other countries, but also to invite the local tourist to see their own country.

I've seen to a lot of festivals since I started traveling, but I guess nothing beats this one because not only it takes place here in my own city, Manila, but also it never fails to gather the best of the best to bring fun and surprises to everyone who attend this gathering.

St. James Parish: The Simple Face of Bolinao

They say that you will know the kind of people living in a town or city through its churches. On how the church looks and how the people there when to see it. And when I visited Bolinao, Pangasinan, it was their church - the St. James Parish Church - was the one who greeted us and gave us an idea on what to expect from this simple yet lovely town.

There was once an article I read about this church and its town. It was said on that article that the town of Bolinao and its church, St. James Parish Church is claiming that the Catholicism in the country started here in this very peaceful town. And it was here where the first Catholic mass was held. Though, there was no accounts to prove the claim, and despite of it being NOT the Queen City, I personally think, that without the title, Bolinao is one lovable town that can make your stay memorable and worthwhile.

The Towering Beauty of Cape Bolinao

Since my great Northern Luzon adventure where I get to see and experience the creepy beauty of the Cape Bojeador, I somehow developed this fascination towards lighthouses. And since that day, I find myslef in the hunt of other lighthouses in the country, and one of the latest hunts for me was the Cape Bolinao of Bolinao, Pangasinan.

Other than the bountifulness of our seas, the beauty of our great coastal lines, including white-sand beaches, if there's one man-made thing that make our coastal provinces make look more fascinating and intriguing, I personally think that lighthouses are one of them.

From its prestige looks that symbolizes power and triumph back in the early days, we now consider these architectural beauties a part of our heritage and culture that are still standing strong until now.

Crocs at Bolinao, Pangasinan's Rock Formations

Just what I always do every time I see chunks of clouds up in the sky, I imagine things from them and made them come to life in a fluffy, cuddly way. But , instead of clouds, my imagination was tested when I when to see the beautiful and scenic Bolinao, Pangasinan's Rock Formations.

A property owned by Puerto del Sol, the hotel resort that accommodated us during our Bolinao, Pangasinan escapade, this peaceful and rocky site at the west side of the town is an example of what kind of gems that this lovely province possesses.

A Peek at Bolinao, Pangasinan's Wonderful Cave

The name might be too so-so to some, but for me,  it was one of the secret gems of the beautiful province of Bolinao, Pangasinan that is ought visiting. A dip on its cool, crystal clear water might be enough, but hey, if you have more time like me, why don't you spend a day cooling down at Wonderful Cave!

Located a few minutes from our hotel resort in Bolinao, Pangasinan - Puerto del Sol - this Wonderful Cave is an attraction that you can check out while exploring this peaceful and romantic province in the northern part of Luzon.

I wasn't amazed upon hearing its name and seeing how the facade of  the place was poorly renovated to accommodate guests, but experiencing its pool of water, which we assumed came from the trees of mountain made my first visit here really relaxing and fun.

One Summer Night on-board the Legworks Luxury Cruise

They say Manila City is one colorful city that is truly distinctive and world-class. And I have no reason at all to doubt that, because for living in this beautiful city for almost three decades, no matter how beautiful the other cities that I have been, no one can replace my home, my Manila.

And a few days back, in a very rare occasion, I was once again wowed the beauty that this city has. And to my delight, I was able to appreciate it from a far - yes, from afar while relaxing on a very elegant private yacht rented by the Legworks Events for their Legworks Luxury Cruise offering.

Guests on this very special and intimate offering are entitled to a dinner before boarding the luxury yacht owned and managed by the Realship Yacht, which is stationed at CCP Bay, Roxas Boulevard. That night, there where two yachts prepared for their guests, one for this group of students who are celebrating the end of school year, while, the other one is for the other guests who are with their family, friends and special someone. I was one of those who are aboard the special one, the M/Y Yrang.
